It was important to us to choose a local builder, someone who lived and worked in our
area. We had been keeping a close eye on new houses being built in the area, together
with renovations, and Paul Kirk’s signboards kept standing out. It was when we saw
the house he had completed in Bonaira Street that we knew he would be building our
new home.
We contacted Michael Kirk to draw up the plans for our new house. It made perfect
sense to use a draughtsman and builder that were working on the same team.
Michael understood our desire to maintain traditional features yet incorporate modern
touches.
When we met with Paul to start the ball rolling, he made the whole process seem
straightforward. Paul put us in touch with all his suppliers, encouraging us to start our
decision process early so as to minimise stress down the track. It was the best advice
he could have given us. That is one of the qualities that we noticed about Paul, he
was constantly trying to make things easier for us.
Kurt was the head builder on-site and we felt comfortable with him from the start.
We stayed very close by when the building was taking place so we were on-site a lot,
Kurt was never too busy to stop and explain where things were up to and what was
happening next, that goes for all the builders, we never felt as if we were getting in
the way. Kurt also encouraged us to think outside the square and suggested we add or
change a few things along the way, things that we are now very grateful for.
There seems to be a common theme when talking about building a new home that it
will take a lot longer than the builder actually states, Paul estimated the time to build
our home would be around 7 months and that is exactly how long it took.
We are very much settled in our new home now and are delighted with the result. We
often see people walk past the house and hear them comment on how beautiful it is.
We believe that Paul, Kurt and their team have set a new benchmark not only in
custom building, but also in customer service.

Paul L Kirk Pty Limited have just completed a complete rebuild of our holiday
house/weekender/hopefully more long term home, above Kiama.
Paul's estimate of the cost was not the lowest but I immediately felt that I could trust him and his team
as his attitude was professional and realistic.
I have been proved correct over the 4-5 months run of the works. There were many variations, some
at our request and some suggested by the team. All his were sensible, as were some of mine.
The outcome was that our job was completed on time, and at the cost that was agreed as the works
progressed.
Most importantly for us, we were always aware that the works were solidly and professionally carried
out. Whatever we agreed to do was done properly and we now have a beautiful house which will give
generations of satisfaction and enjoyment to our family, friends and those who follow (although
we never intend to sell).
We were lucky to have Paul and his team, lead by Joel, and hope they will build our parent's retreat
when our grandchildren drive us out of our wonderful home.

We would particularly like to thank Michael Kirk in the design stage, as the design of the house meets all of our expectations. It looks great, provides a great living space and is highly functional. It also meets our requirements for solar access, energy efficiency and eventually water efficiency. It provides a great venue for functions with family and friends.
We would also like to thank you personally for all of your support, considered suggestions to improve the quality of the house and project management expertise. It has been a very hectic period for our family but you have made it very pleasurable experience.
